Michael John was always surrounded by musicians as a child. His grandfather, Michael "Mickey" Nold, was an incredible musician and band-leader for the Canadian Naval Parade and Concert Band, his grandmother , Evelyn Muriel Nold played piano with Country Legend Hank Snow.

With these strong influences, Michael became enthralled with music and created his first drum set, at the age of five, out of the buckets used to feed the horses on the family farm. He would play them for hours while listening to and singing along with greats like: Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney, Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck and the Beatles.

Once time proved Michael was not going to give the drums up easily, his grandfather bought him his first real Ludwig snare to learn on, later graduating to a full kit by Westbury on which he learned to play the music of favourites like The Who, Led Zeppelin, Sha Na Na, Bob Seager and Cheap Trick. He was soon playing school dances in his first band at the age of twelve and was performing in bars and hotels at thirteen.

Michael formed, sang lead and played the drums in numerous bands between 1984-2008 including The Last Call, The Ralph Carlson Band, Caught In The Act, Rockin' Mic, The Time Machines, Hickory & The Reds, The Miller Brothers, Jimmy Who, Crisis Kings and Winchester 44. Michael impersonated artists like Roy Orbison, Elvis and Tom Jones for many years, and he entered and won his first of many Elvis impersonator competitions in 1994. He continued to win competitions until 1998 when he retired from competition in order to devote more energy to his own shows.

In 2008 Michael join The Hound Dogs and has already performed several shows with us to to rave reviews.
